My Reflection Diary

During this year I have been doing really cool subjects on my netbook. It is better than paper and pencil because when I was in year four. Did you know last year my favourite subject was writing and a little bit of maths? Guess what my favourite subject is still writing?


Reading is not my thing and also maths because I just don’t get It and also I don’t really think It is fun at all but I want to achieve next year so my report card could be very good and great.


Every day I try to manage my time wisely so that I could do free stuff on my netbook and also outside.


I get golden time all the time because I get my work done fast and I kind of manage my time wisely so I could make cakes or cupcakes with my teacher.

Next year I am going to listen to the teacher and make sure I do not get in trouble all the time.

News Article

During 6pm my grandmother said to me,"Look 15 kids in USA were shot by a man who didn't take charge"! 


I said to my grandmother,"What did you say 15 kids got shot in USA OMG"! What a shock! That is so sad. I think that it is really disappointing! NO it is disappointing! "Ohh that's right"! said my cousin. We hope those kids rest in peace well they are in heaven.


The killer was a man who did not take charge and also did horrible things to lovely boys and girls but he shot himself so he couldn't go to jail and live his life there!! He should be very ashamed of himself for a long time!! He was so not cool because what he did to kids and also a teacher.


The teacher was very kind to the kids at school and also she would give out cake for free and make also make cupcakes for all the teachers in the school!! "Wow that is so cool"! said my grandmother! She said to me, If somebody who try's and kill you before me I will always be right beside you and also I will be the light to guide you"! I said back to my grandmother, " I will always be there for you too"!

School camp fun Summery

Siobhan is really excited because she is having her first school camp with her friends.
Her dad had to go with her to camp so that he could look after his pretty and beautiful daughter. Did you know that she was just staying for one night but she needed to take lots of stuff like togs and a towel, a sleeping bag, warm clothes, her toothbrush, a mug, a plate and last but not least a spoon?

After that when they arrived at Siobhan school they were putting up the tents and also Siobhan friends were helping her dad to put up the tents too. Siobhan had to sleep with some other three girls and also they needed someone’s mum to look after them.
Siobhan dad had to look after the other three boys so that Siobhan dad looks after the boys like the girls.

When all the gear was pack away they had some yummy lunch. Siobhan friends were so hungry they just wanted to have the food to themselves and not share to the other people. They were eating fish and chips.

Santa Claus

During a hot summers day Santa Claus was giving out present but suddenly one of his reindeers feel asleep then santa landed on a old boat. “I was very lucky because If I didn’t land on this old boat I could of been soaking wet”, said santa!

Santa was so cross with the reindeer he said to him or her to never ever fall asleep again! When santa finished getting angry at the reindeer it needed to do chores for santa claus and make sure that santa doesn’t get sick in the north pole.

Instead of giving present to little kids at home he decided to give his present out at the beach where kids love to play and swim. It was reindeers Idea so that the reindeer doesn’t need to do those things for santa and that he could get his other job back.

Santa gave the reindeers job back and then the reindeer was happy but he needed to do one more thing he had to make sure that santa didn’t get sick. OH NO! The reindeer didn’t look after santa!

Five Years later santa was back to normal then the reindeer got his job back and they lived happily ever after!

Siobhan is really excited because she is having her first school camp with her friends.
Her dad had to go with her to camp so that he could look after his pretty and beautiful daughter. Did you know that she was just staying for one night but she needed to take lots of stuff like togs and a towel, a sleeping bag, warm clothes, her toothbrush, a mug, a plate and last but not least a spoon?

Her dad was the one that she had to take so that he could look after his daughter.


So that they can look after Siobhan and her friends.

She skips one and then she is on the fourth monkey.

Netbook Reflection 2012

During year four I was using paper and pencil. “Boring Right!” But now I use my a really cool netbook. It is kind of like a laptop but more amazing and more fantastic than pencil and paper. 

Pencil and paper was the only thing that I could only use when I was small and a little bigger. “That is it! I don't want to use paper and pencil ever again”, I said to myself. I was really sad that time when I was using paper and pencil but, now I could smile because I have a brand new netbook. Woo hoo!

When I first got my netbook I was thrilled but I was frustrated at the same time too
because I didn’t know how to use my netbook but a couple of teachers helped me and then I was so very happy!

About my netbook being a learning tool is great anyway and so very exciting because I get to learn how to write narratives and also recounts that I could share to people around the world. They could see it on my cool blog!

Next year I will not play games I will do my work and homework to because it is more important than a game.

During The afternoon Room Fourteen were creating their favourite toys. Our teacher Miss Ouano told us to write instructions so we could not only tell our school about our favourite toys and how to make our special toys on our blogs. We are also telling people around the world  about our toys that we love.


My toy is a paper man that gets weaved and gets paper cuts all round its body. If you want to make a paper man just do these easy peasy steps. First up you would need some coloured paper and also you would need some scissors so you could cut it into long strips so that when you weave it you can cut its body and so it makes paper cuts like I said befor.   



Last but not least you just need to put it together and wolha.  


I love paper mans because they make me happy.
It is the best toy that I ever had in the world and also it is the thing that makes my heart beating. You should try making a paper man because its not for making you happy its for making you smile each and every day. You should try and make a paper man befor paper run’s out.

First up you would need some coloured paper and also you would need some scissors so you could cut it into long strips .

During a hot summers day Kimberley Ouano was so hungry she didn’t want to buy bread or milk for her family because they don’t buy anything she wanted and needed for a trip and also school.


Kimberley decided to just spend money on herself and got her a brand new house so she could relax and have a rest from her mother getting angry very fast.
When she was trying to sleep she dreamed that her family went on a trip and lifted her behind in New York city. Suddenly  She was out of money and out of food too.

She went back home and talked with her mother. Her mother said to her,”I missed you where have you been you must be hungry”!  



Then Kimberley felt well because that was the best thing that her mum ever said that to her and told her mum this,” I send all of the money on me and didn’t care about you because when I was 2 you didn’t care about me but know you do and I love you mum”!

Beach Day

During a hot summers day Emma and Rikki decided to have a beautiful swim and picnic at Pt England Reserve.

”Do you want to play vollyball”? Ask Rikki and Emma said very nicely,”Yes please”!
They said to each other,”Can you hear that sound that is coming out of the sea”! Emma and Rikki  was so scared that they wanted to go back home. They were feeling fine and was ready to see what was is the sea.

It was a man that was drowning and there was a shark that was ready to have lunch
but, Emma and Rikki were still saving that poor mans life.

“We thought saved the poor mans life but we were too late”, said Emma and Rikki. They were crying and felt ashamed of themselves. But luckily they saved that mans life in the water in the end!

Then they took the poor man into hospital so they can keep him alive. Guess what? He survived and lived happily ever after!

Did you know that the great big blue whales are the most largest and living animal in the sea and did you know that a killer whale is very small?


Blue great whales are very big and kind of long. They are very massive! I heard that some dinosaurs were larger than the blue great whales but the dinosaurs died along time ago.
The great blue whales are the largest animal and happens to live in the sea. It is not a fish because the mother great blue whale feeds her baby calf with milk.


Most whales measure 20 metres and grow over 30 metres. Did you know that they weigh 250 tonnes and did you know that it is heavy than a big barge?

Maths Writing

Maths Writing

During maths time room fourteen was making fraction with play dough. 

Maths is the best part of my learning but guess what was more cool and fantastic. Room fourteen went to learn with play dough and doing fractions with the play dough. I said to my teacher,”What do you mean”. She meant to me that my maths group is going to do fractions with play dough.

Did you know that it felt so squishy,gooey,smooth and melted chocolate?

Fraction are when you can split an eel into equal parts and split a chocolate bar in different ways. This term we are doing this because it is apart of maths and it is very great to me as a maths activity! 

I hope and wish that I will do this again because it is very cool,great,fantastic,awesome and amazing maths activity!

Piri and the Tekoteko

Maraes have a Tekoteko so that it can protect the people.


A scary tekoteko is a good thing because it makes some birds fly away and sometimes it make people go away!

Piri was so angry because the tekoteko didn’t look like the one that he had at home.

Paralympic Games World Record

During the Paralympic games New Zealand best superstars Phillipa Gary and Laura Thompson were competing against Irish world champions at the cycling competition.

When Philippa Gray and Laura Thompson were visiting Ireland they had a problem, they are vision impaired but they were doing fine.

Cameron Leslie that plays for New Zealand was the gold medalist. He was first out of the mens swimming competition, but the problem was sad because well he was in the paralympic games his limb was missing.

Paralympic Games

During the Paralympic Games the Sport events are cool and Athletes have Physical Disabilities.

Winter and Summer is when the  Paralympic Games are held. They are held in the same stadium as the Olympics Games.

Many others were in wheelchairs, have amputations and may be blind. There are 20 paralympics events games that are para equestrian, wheelchair basketball, sitting volleyball and goalball.

Olympic events have the same as rules and many paralympic events except, the way it is played may be changed.

Kiwi Grub For Mohua

What eats hundreds of worms and seventy huhu grubs?
A greedy and spotted kiwi called Mohua.

Mohua's beak was broken off, it hurt so bad that she couldn’t feed herself for a year!
Staff Willowbank Wildlife reserve in Christchurch fed her special kiwi pellets that is made of minced meat,crushed dried insects,banana,and bran.

Best Cross Country Ever!

Nine year old girls and boys were lining up for cross country at room 18. This is so that Mr.Burt  could lead us to the path where we had to run.

Mr.Burt's clappers were telling us to run so we can get very fit, but when it came to muddy paths and also massive puddles it was horrible!

Well I was running I saw creeks, lakes, people watching out for me and also I saw a whole lot of nature.

Fourth was the place that I really needed but I came fifth, because I was not in shape and I did not feel well. At least I came in good mood when I finished!


I really enjoyed cross country because it was amazing, fantastic, cool, awesome and great. I hope that there will be  another cross country.

Olympic Shot Put Story

Olympic winner, Nadzeya Osapchck was taking steroids while she played shout put.  Nadzeya Osapchck cheated by having drugs and she failed the drug test.

Her country that is Russia was so proud but when they heard that  she won the gold. But then Dave Currie said,"She did not pass the drug test!". They were shocked and pretty much angry at her and she mite be disappointed about the thing that she did and how she cheated.

Adams must be so happy because she passes the drug test and she got the gold medal.

Valerie Adams is not sliver any more and also she must be feeling so proud, fantastic, awesome, amazing, and cool! New Zealand has six gold medals now!

P.E.P.A. Dancing practices

P.E.P.A. Dancing practices

Discarding things is very hard but not for me because I went into a dance crew that is called P.E.P.A and the dance is at a school. It has so much and cool stuff in it like dancing,filming,and also detail!

Did you know that my friend called D.J is now teaching little kids our dance to chris brown move your body. I love dancing but my family don’t because they think it is not real but it is!Me and D.J were teaching boys but they were not listening but D.j did the dance then they listened very carefully. We teached them then we had a break. It was so hard and kind of trekkie but we were still standing up and not giving up!I pushed all of my mite and it was so cool and amazing!

I love to dance! Do you like to dance whenever you want to?

I wish that people will love dancing!                     

Olympic Opening ceremony

Mike Mcroberts was reporting at the Kiwi House in london for the Olympic opening ceremony in last night. New Zealanders were cheering and were waving their flags at the Kiwi House.

Did you know that there were fireworks, dancing, singing, instruments, medals? The fireworks were so amazing and fantastic that it blew me away!

Mr. Bean was playing an instrument at the opening ceremony and he was so bored that he fell asleep and had a perfect dream.

It would be so cool going in a helicopter because I heard that James Bond and Queen Elizabeth went into a helicopter so they can see the olympic opening ceremony.


If I was in the audience or crowd I would be so thrilled and maybe fainting already and I will be cheering and screaming for my team NZ! When you were watching the olympic opening ceremony did you see the fiery olympic rings on prime?

Josh and the Tooth Fairy

When my teeth
comes out I put it under my soft pillow and sometimes I kind of put it a glass.


Well my tooth fairy leaves me a gold coin so I could spend it on myself. Did you know that Josh lives on a cool farm called country farm.


When I heard that
Josh’s grandmother said,’’ When she was a little girl she use to put her tooth in a glass of water so that the tooth fairy can come and give her something that she wanted".


Josh is very wrong about putting his tooth underneath the kitchen mat because when his dad was a little boy he use to put it under the kitchen mat. Did you know that the tooth fairy gave a gold coin to josh at night?


I think dad put his cow teeth under the mat so he could trick josh to get the tooth fairy to come to and give him a gold coin but he got a pile of hay. Maybe the tooth fairy didn’t come because that wasn’t a person tooth.

The five interlocking rings are on the Olympic flag are so beautiful!

Did you know that the colours of the rings are blue, yellow, black,g reen and also red and on a white background?

I heard that the five parts of the rings were representing a movement.

 I can not believe that because the Olympic continents are countries like this Africa,America,Asia,Australia and Europe!

Water Polo the Olympics

My Olympic event sport is water polo. It is about men and women playing like soccer but they use their hands instead of legs. I heard that they play in the water because that's why it is called water polo. I picked this amazing and fantastic Olympics sport because it sounds and looks very interesting.




This sport is very wet and kind of like a hard game in the Olympics because you have to game  that you can play. In the water  you use a ball to get a score. The game  haves rules like this you can't use your legs and you can not swim  because if you do swim that you will be cheating to get a score! If you want to win your game you really have you rock out to it and you pretty much have to make sure that you are working very hard with your buddy's!


In1897 the sport water polo started and it was made by New Yorkers. Harold Reader created the first American rules for discipline. Water Polo started in the Paris 1900 games.    


If you want to play water polo you really need equipment like a swimsuit and a ball.


My olympic event space is in the pools. I love water polo because that’s my favourite olympic sport!!!!!!

Rebekah Term Two Reflection

This term I have learnt to make a presentations and also searching for clues or answers in the book. Have you heard that in assembly there is a korero called finish off your work properly ?

Do you know what comprehension means ? It means that you have to understand the story that you are reading and also finish it off . I think I have to show my reading in different ways so I could improve it to my teacher and also my family !!!! Do you want to improve your reading to someone ???? Showing examples to my teacher would be kind of frustrating . I love to answer questions because I like to turn them into writing so I could make it wonderful !!!!

I didn't like the way I done my reading because my report said , “I was below” , and I felt very sad and angry !!!! Finding awesomer in the books is very hard sometimes and it is not good with me. Also my reading task that I do it is not done properly and also it doesn't go well with myself . I don’t like to rush because it make my work difficult !!!!

I have to make my reading improve next year so I could have a great report !!!!

PES Gallery of Fine Arts

When my class room 14 went in to the Art Gallery, we were so thrilled and ecstatic! Did you know that we were so lost in the art gallery because it look so cool ?

My friends saw some beautiful and pretty artwork and amazing paintings !!!

I liked how room 10  did some shiny Patterns because it looked great, good, and almost better then my artwork ! I hope that they are doing great things in their classroom.

Next year I hope that Pt. England will have Art Alive again so I could strive to succeed in my paintings and also drawings!
