Getting ready for FiaFia

One sunny day our home teachers Mr. Marks,Somerville and Miss Garden told team 4 that we were going to be split up into our FiaFia groups. We were so nervous that it could be hard to do culture or hip hop dancing and a little bit of other stuff like drumming.

I was split into hip hop. It is going to be  hard and exhausting! I wanted to be in a culture group but I still stayed in hip hop. When I started to do the moves it was pretty boring and so I skip one lesson and went to another group but I decided to do the right thing.

My tutors are Mrs Barks and Mrs Erasmus.

At the very start we are going to do something with our hands and feet then we will move on to our cool dance that is very hard and awesome.

The costume that we are wearing for fiafia is a white t shirts and black bottoms.

My favourite part is going to be performing on the stage in front of my family.

Keep the fish and the other animals safe in our creek and also don't treat it like a rubbish bin.
I really feel sorry for all of those animal that are living in our creek so don't treat our creek like a bin.

We are going to test how we can see very clearly and easily throw our 4 jar of the sea water,the culvert, the tap, and last but not least the bridge with our 4 sample.

I predict that:

Do you know what turbidity means? It means that you can see throw any thing cloudy or sometimes clearly. When room 17s literacy group went to omaru creek to get our 4 sample miss Garden teached us all about turbidity. We were seeing if we can see clearly at the words on our papers that were sized 9,12,14,and 24.

I think this because:

We are using Scientific report template so we can learn all about turbidity.

Results of my tests

Sea Water	24,14 I think that because they are really big and clearly to see of the sea water.
Tap water	14 I only saw 14 because it looked so easy to look at instead of 24
Omaru Creek water by culvert	I couldn’t see any number at all.
Omaru Creek water by bridge	I couldn’t see any number at all. the same as the culvert.

My conclusion (what I found out):

I found out that turbidity is not a great and really cool word.

Why I think this is:

Miss Garden my literacy teacher said.

The smell from omaru creek.

I am going to test this by:

4 samples.

2. the culvert

4 glass jars

2 buckets

4 water samples

I predict that:

The water beside the culvert smells like a rotten egg that was suddenly tucked in the bin but nobody bothered to empty the bin.

I think this because:

I think that because the water sample smelled like rotten egg.

My conclusion (what I found out):

The omaru creek water smells like rotten egg and a rubbish bin.

Why I think this is:

Because room 17’s Reading group did some samples.

Omaru creek testing colours

What colour the water is.

I am going to test this by:

Comparing different water samples and describing the colour.

4 water samples from1. the culvert

2. the sea

3. the tap

4.the bidge

I predict that:

the water beside the culvert is really brown and a dark colour too.

The sea water just glows with the sun.

the tap water is just clear and a little white.

The bridge colour is the same as the culvert.

I think this because:

It’s because people treat it like a rubbish bin and sometimes like a toilet.

My conclusion (what I found out):

The seawater is really nice and clear.

The water beside the bridge is kind of green but it still doesn’t mean that it is drity.

the culvert water is really dirty.

the tap water is the same as the sea water

Why I think this is:

The seawater is so clean and clear because there are mango’s that makes the seawater nice and fresh like the tap water. The water beside the bridge is so green because the catfish or sometimes the sun makes it green. The culvert water is so dirty because people treat it like a rubbish bin.
