During term 2 rooms 16 17 and 18 has been learning about Antarctica. We also learned that the temperature is very cold and really freezing. You would not live over there. Antarctica is really cold but if the sun comes out the ice will melts and the water will get warmer and warmer every hour or minute.

In Antarctica there are many species that live in the water.

Its a wildlife out there but some animals are really cute and some are not cute.

killer whales are very scary to me and also leopard seals.

penguins are my favourite animals of them all and even ham back whales.

Getting ready for FiaFia

One sunny day our home teachers Mr. Marks,Somerville and Miss Garden told team 4 that we were going to be split up into our FiaFia groups. We were so nervous that it could be hard to do culture or hip hop dancing and a little bit of other stuff like drumming.

I was split into hip hop. It is going to be  hard and exhausting! I wanted to be in a culture group but I still stayed in hip hop. When I started to do the moves it was pretty boring and so I skip one lesson and went to another group but I decided to do the right thing.

My tutors are Mrs Barks and Mrs Erasmus.

At the very start we are going to do something with our hands and feet then we will move on to our cool dance that is very hard and awesome.

The costume that we are wearing for fiafia is a white t shirts and black bottoms.

My favourite part is going to be performing on the stage in front of my family.

Keep the fish and the other animals safe in our creek and also don't treat it like a rubbish bin.
I really feel sorry for all of those animal that are living in our creek so don't treat our creek like a bin.

We are going to test how we can see very clearly and easily throw our 4 jar of the sea water,the culvert, the tap, and last but not least the bridge with our 4 sample.

I predict that:

Do you know what turbidity means? It means that you can see throw any thing cloudy or sometimes clearly. When room 17s literacy group went to omaru creek to get our 4 sample miss Garden teached us all about turbidity. We were seeing if we can see clearly at the words on our papers that were sized 9,12,14,and 24.

I think this because:

We are using Scientific report template so we can learn all about turbidity.

Results of my tests

Sea Water	24,14 I think that because they are really big and clearly to see of the sea water.
Tap water	14 I only saw 14 because it looked so easy to look at instead of 24
Omaru Creek water by culvert	I couldn’t see any number at all.
Omaru Creek water by bridge	I couldn’t see any number at all. the same as the culvert.

My conclusion (what I found out):

I found out that turbidity is not a great and really cool word.
